HOW DID GRACE CAFÉ ORIGINATE

On 14 November 2007 our FATHER moved the spirit of one of his servants through an email he received with the cartoon as seen below to start a Grace Café in Hermanus, South Africa.

The servant tried different ways to do just that, but it was not until April 2009 that the timing was right for this concept. What was on the servants heart was that it should be a coffee shop with a difference. There should not only be free coffee, tea and cake, but the presence of the LORD should be felt when you walk through that door. There should be soft worship music, Christian books to read and DVD’s to watch and teachings from different ministries. There should be prayer rooms, areas where people could sit in a relaxed atmosphere and just enjoy the fellowship. What this servant did not realize was that the call he received on 16 June 2008 to start a Bible School in the market place through a visitation from the Father Himself was part of the Grace Café concept. After praying and fasting the Bible School in the marketplace had a rough outline of how it should operate within a guesthouse environment. After the initiation of the Bible School and the Grace Café concepts the LORD brought the two together as one concept.

While preparing the Grace Café in Hermanus the servant’s wife asked him one Saturday morning what is the vision of the LORD for this concept. The servant replied that the LORD has not yet revealed that to him. About ten minutes later the servant was sitting at his desk in his office and his six year old son came and sat next to him and said the following: “ Daddy, why is there not only one job in the whole word? The servant said: What do you mean son? The son said: Daddy if there are a few people in the whole world that has only one job and they have people in every town in the whole world that is burning rubbish, there would be no rubbish left in the whole world. The servant immediately grasp the message from the LORD. The servant replied: Son, we are a few people that started burning rubbish in Hermanus, (meaning the Grace Café) but I did not know that it had to be done through out the world. The son replied: The people that are burning the rubbish should hurry up because the people that are producing the rubbish are not slowing down and if the rubbish aren’t burned quickly, the whole world would be under rubbish” With that words from a six year old, totally out of context, the son stood up and left the room. The servant just sat there, could not grasp the full impact of the direct message from the LORD and the vision implanted in the heart of the servant.

The Hermanus Grace Café started operating during May 2009 with a full time counselor available. The counseling are available to the marketplace for free. The facilities are available to all Christian denominations for fellowship, also for free. The second phase of Hermanus will be a similar Grace Café with a Word school in an area that is highly infiltrated with gangsters. The main focus in Hermanus are healing, restoration, birthing of new ideas etc. The second Grace Café opened in Utrecht, Natal, South Africa on 6 September 2009. The focus of this Grace Café will include all the aspects as dealt with in Hermanus, but a large part of the ministry will be seminars and training in conjunction with Khawdash (new beginning camp ministries) as well as seminars from the well-known Family Foundation International. The second phase of the Utrecht Grace Café is in the rural area of the town focusing on School children. When we started in the area it seemed that there were no Christians and a high component of witchcraft. We ask for your prayers in this regard and that we will be within GOD’s will every step of the way.

With the LORD’s vision in our hearts we are a group of believers that are preparing the way through prayer and waiting on the LORD for direction on the next Grace Café in the next town. The concept has two legs. The one leg is the business part through renting out short term and long term accommodation. This finances the second leg, the ministry side.
